I also have a history of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I thought that yoga could be a gentle form of activity that would help move me but not exhaust me.
I found the small weekly class that I attended to be really helpful in terms of increasing the movement in the shoulder joint but I also felt calm and relaxed after a class, always sleeping really well and it seemed to help keep my energy levels and health on a more even keel. This weekly class became a real beacon of joy in my otherwise very busy week.
I could really feel the benefit of the yoga through my body and mind, my health also improved, and so I decided to take my yoga journey further. I trained with the Inner Yoga Trust (500 hours teacher training), which is Scaravelli inspired learning with the focus on awakening the spine.
This course has been transformational for me in terms of learning about the yoga asanas (postures), the breathing and meditation, but also the importance of the spiritual side of yoga and how it seeps into every part of my life.
I am also a qualified Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner, through the School of Thai Yoga Massage. This is a unique therapeutic massage which combines acupressure, gentle stretching and yoga, and it is a wonderful whole-body massage that really complements yoga.
