My personal health philosophy is that good body/mind function and relaxation go hand in hand – and there is no more natural approach to relaxation than learning to enjoy a massage. I believe regular massage develops an increased body awareness which is a prerequisite for maintaining health and happiness
As a practitioner, I owe my initial inspiration to the wide experience of my initial trainer Shaun Doherty who, amongst other forms of massage, had trained in Cranio Sacral Therapy, Reichian Therapy, Postural Integration, Osteopathy and Body Psychotherapy. I attend regular professional training courses which enable me to maintain my fascination in the art of massage and continue developing my work creatively
Over several years I have developed a special interest in the use of massage to help to unlock and bring to the surface deep – seated psychological issues, which, while left in the unconscious, can condition our lives in negative ways
I hold a Bodymind Therapeutic Diploma and am a registered member and former committee member of the Northern Massage Association and also the Massage Training Institute
Outside my massage work my other business interests are as a farmer these last forty years tenanting a National Trust hill farm. Recreationally I enjoy the occassional day out sailing. Academically I have interests in both business management and theology for which I hold degrees. I have a busy family life with a number of grandchildren
