Person Centred-Integrative Counselling
There are times in our lives when we become aware that things are not as we would like them to be. There may be obvious causes, such as difficulties at work, family issues, trauma, illness or bereavement, feeling anxious or depressed; or we may just be feeling ‘out of sorts’ and not coping as well as we would normally.
Person centred counselling is led by you. It is a judgement-free space where you can explore your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and be supported in working through the confusion or challenges to find out what you need.
I also draw on creative approaches to exploring our inner worlds using ideas from psychoanalysis and attachment theory, to help explore how past experiences might be affecting the present.
Many clients find that talking is enough. Some clients find it helpful to use metaphors, dreams, visual images, scribbles or other materials to help them to see things in a new way. I may suggest an activity, but in the end, it is up to you. The most important thing is that you feel safe enough to explore what matters to you in ways that work for you.
